Vocational training sessions supporting amputees who have received prosthetic legs services within the framework of the royal prosthetic mobile unit, consisting of 4 sessions.
Beyond offering free royal prosthetic legs services to amputees visiting the Royal Mobile Prosthetic Legs Unit, the Prostheses Foundation conducted a survey to assess the vocational training needs of these individuals. This survey was undertaken by the provincial public health team. Upon obtaining comprehensive information regarding the vocational training requirements, the Foundation will collaborate with local government and private agencies to organize necessary vocational training tailored to the needs of the amputees. The specifics of the training are outlined below: First session The Prostheses Foundation collaborates with Phetchabun Province to arrange vocational training for amputees from the Royal Prosthetic Legs Workshops in Phetchabun Province. This program covers various skills, including poultry farming, vegetable cultivation, mushroom cultivation, and barbering. The training is scheduled from 20th to 21st February 2023, for disabled individuals receiving prosthetic legs services. The objective is to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to leverage their training in supporting themselves and their families through their chosen profession. Second session The Prostheses Foundation, in collaboration with Ratchaburi Province, has arranged vocational training in agriculture for disabled individuals and their relatives participating in associated activities linked to the Royal Mobile Prosthetic Legs Unit. Scheduled between 19th and 22nd March 2023, this initiative received financial support from Krienglit Sukcharoensin, a committee member of the Prostheses Foundation, and the cooperation of various departments including the Ratchaburi Provincial Agricultural Office, Ratchaburi Land Development Station, Ratchaburi Provincial Livestock Office, Ratchaburi Provincial Fisheries Office, and Ratchaburi Freshwater Aquaculture Research and Development Center. These collaborations helped in enlisting instructors to impart knowledge and provide equipment for diverse agricultural practices such as vegetable gardening, fairy mushroom cultivation, organic fertilizer production, poultry farming, fish rearing, and breeding red worms as natural feed. The training aimed to benefit amputees receiving services by equipping them with knowledge and tools to re-enter their professions, fostering a sustainable improvement in the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Third session The Prostheses Foundation collaborated with Sakon Nakhon Province to conduct vocational training for individuals with disabilities and their relatives from 21st to 26th May 2023. The Sakon Nakhon Provincial Livestock Office extended support by providing speakers to impart knowledge and furnished materials on poultry farming, specifically in raising egg laying chickens. Additionally, the Prostheses Foundation helped by providing the necessary equipment for raising laying hens. Fourth session The Prostheses Foundation partnered with Nakhon Si Thammarat Province to organize vocational training for individuals with disabilities and their relatives from 16th to 21st July 2023. The Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Livestock Office supported by assisting in recruiting knowledgeable speakers, particularly in the field of raising egg-laying chickens. Moreover, the Young Smart Farmer Club, Nakhon Si Thammarat, contributed by providing instructors for training in mushroom cultivation, while the Wilailak Beauty School, Nakhon Si Thammarat, offered lecturers to teach the hairdressing profession. Additionally, Kaew Siang Tham, a local organization, supported by providing funds for the acquisition of laying hens and necessary equipment to empower individuals with disabilities for occupational purposes.
